Aroma de Cuba

Aroma de Cuba brings authentic Cuban flavors to Old North State Food Hall with dishes like Cuban sandwiches (three variations!), empanadas, plantain chips, and rice and bean bowls. Owners Danny and Sheri Gonzalez aim to transport diners to the mom-and-pop restaurants one would find along the famous Calle 8 in the heart of Little Havana. Equally as important as the food is the Cuban coffee to pair with it, a welcomed menu item for travelers along I-95, where the food hall resides.

Danny & Sheri Gonzalez

Owners

Danny is a Miami, FL native with Cuban Roots. Sheri was born in Venezuela and raised in Miami, FL. They moved to North Carolina with their kids to have a better life. They have three kids ranging from 13 to 3 years old.

After both previously working in other work fields, they decided to start their own business using Danny’s talent of cooking. They started the food truck in 2020 to bring something different to Johnston County.

We wanted to bring some authentic South Florida Cuban cuisine to the area, the type that you would find in the small mom and pop restaurants along the famous Calle 8 (AKA 8th St) in the heart of Little Havana.

We also wanted to pair our food with Cuban coffee, which is equally as important as the food in Miami. Between the two, customers will have the full South Floridian experience.
